I
was sitting in a restaurant one day and noticed a TV on the wall with
teaser ads running in quick succession, like the TVs that you see in
Doctors offices and other public places. Each ad was only on the screen
a few seconds and provided just enough information to tell you a little
about some company or organization. I was watching one ad in particular
for a fancy restaurant that I had never heard of and I noticed that it
never gave its address or even what town it was in. Now it struck me as
odd that it never told me what I really needed to know. If this
restaurant was as good as it claimed to be I could never partake of it
because I didn't know where it was or how to get there. I did notice a
phone number to call and a website to visit for more information, but
the advertisers thought that if I wanted to pursue the idea of going to
the restaurant that I could look it up myself or call on another person
to give me the information that I needed. As Christians do we do the same thing? We go from
letting our light shine and people seeing Christ in us to doing things
that we shouldn't do. We should be a constant light for Jesus and if
our light is always shining lost souls will be asking us for directions
to the happiness that we have. (Mat 5:14) Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
(Mat 5:15) Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all
that are in the house.
(Mat 5:16) Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in
heaven.
If
a lost soul did ask you for directions to Christ, would you be able to
give them the Words they needed for comfort or would you have to send
them to a Minister of the Gospel. If you keep Gods Word in your heart
you won't have to send them to somebody else, you can always tell them
what Jesus has done in your life.
